Role Overview

The Office Manager will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the Delmec Pakistan office, ensuring its effective operation and the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions that align with industry standards and client expectations. This position requires a dynamic professional with exceptional leadership, organisational, administrative, and management skills to oversee multiple business functions.

The Office Manager will be responsible for promoting a positive and high-performance culture, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures, and supporting business growth in Pakistan. They will work closely with project managers, design engineers, and support staff to drive efficiency, enhance productivity, and develop the office into a strategic asset for Delmec’s international operations.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead and manage the team, including resource allocation and task delegation.
  • Cultivate cross-functional collaboration with technical teams, operations, and project managers to achieve seamless project execution.
  • Management of weekly time sheets, work order trackers, and job number reports.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality work for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Regularly assess team productivity and ensure adherence to established quality benchmarks and reporting protocols.
  • Establish individual targets aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Ensure designs are delivered on budget, on schedule, and compliant with program standards.
  • Coordinate civil works designs for approval bodies and tender documentation.
  • Develop and support the expansion of Delmec’s business through sales and project initiatives.
  • Support recruitment activities, ensuring the hiring of ambitious and skilled professionals.
  • Manage training and development requirements for team members.
  • Maintain organised projects documentation (e.g., working drawings, purchase orders) and collaborate with other teams to issue necessary records.
  • Provide administration support when needed.
  • Address inefficiencies and implement solutions.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Develop, communicate, and deliver best practices.
  • Adhere to all Delmec quality and environmental obligations, company environmental policy, Health and Safety requirements, regulations, and safe work practice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management or Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing teams within a technical or engineering environment.
  • Civil or Structural background would be a distinctive advantage.
  • Ability to manage the workflows of the technical design team.
  • Proven experience in managing technical projects and design processes.
  • Excellent leadership, reporting, planning and organisational skills.
  • Experience in mentoring career growth and providing constructive feedback.
  • Ability to work and communicate confidently and effectively within all levels in the company as well as external customers.
  • Pro-active with a problem-solving approach.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and related IT systems essential for design and project management.
  • Prior experience in the telecommunications industry or working on telecom infrastructure projects would be an advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal English language is essential.
